On the ground floor there are 3 living rooms including a comfortable family den with large TV and two couches, a formal living room and a huge dining room with walls of glass overlooking the front lawn and beachfront. Living areas lead to a covered deck for outdoor dining, reading and relaxing. There’s also an outdoor gas grill with propane included, and an outdoor shower. The ground floor also offers a full bathroom with shower and laundry facilities, washer and drier.

Inside the Southold Beach House on the top floor you will find four large bedrooms that can accommodate eight people comfortably, two with waterfront views leading to a private deck. The master bedroom has a King size bed with en-suite full bathroom and private terrace. There’s a guest bedroom with Queen size bed, plus two additional bedrooms with two twin size single beds in each served by an additional full family bathroom.

My family (which includes my wife, 2 kids along with my brother’s family of 3) stayed at 1450 West Lane in Southold for two months in 2017 and it was the most memorable summer of my life. The house, with its amazing deck, private beach and incredible vistas has everything you could ever want in a summer home. By renting this house, you also hit the jackpot with the most amenable, accommodating and friendly family you can have as landlords. They make sure that everything is taken care of right away but give you all the privacy you can ask for at the same time. Joanna Lane from Property Angels manages the house and if you need a cleaning or any recommendations, she is on it immediately. You’ll spend all of your time on the deck and at the beach but this section of Southold is perfect as its a short drive to all of the good vineyards, restaurants and Greenport. Jay and family, NYC
